In this special blog feature I am highlighting the amazing authors whose stories are in  The Christmas Tales Bundle.

Authors are always busy people, but I was especially impressed that Leigh Saunders managed to take time from her job at a large software company and keeping the peace between two feuding cats determined to claim her attention, to answer a few questions and share what inspired her story.

The Story: One Magical Christmas

Nick just wanted to plan a festive Christmas surprise for his girlfriend, Emily. No problem, right?

Wrong.

Finding a street vendor in Manhattan with a nice tree on the last Friday before Christmas? A huge challenge. And the tree he does find comes with some surprises of its own.

The Questions

  1. Are you more of a hunter or gatherer?
I’d have to say that I’m more of a hunter – always on the lookout for new things to learn, new places to see, new people to meet.

2. What inspired this Christmas story?
While on a business trip to NYC, I was enchanted by the many “pocket parks” I discovered while walking through Manhattan, one of which plays a small, but important role in this story.

3. What do you want to be when you grow up?
I’d love to be a full-time fiction writer – and am actually getting closer to that goal every year.

Bonus
4. What is the last thing you watched on TV and why did you choose to watch it?
The Great British Baking Show. It had been an exhausting day, and I just wanted to settle on the couch with a cup of tea and something light but still entertaining to watch. I don’t do reality TV very often – it’s usually far too contrived and generally irritating – but this show is much more good-natured. I never expected to enjoy it (a friend introduced me to it last summer), and am still surprised that I do.
