It’s really easy to get caught up in what’s not going right. Perhaps your story has stalled on page 100 (relax that’s normal). Or you’ve not hit your goal for the year (or decade). Perhaps you’re not where you’d hoped to be in your life. Others have hit special milestones and you feel left behind, or you’ve hit a milestone and you feel inadequate.

Whatever makes you feel anxious, depressed or inferior; I want to offer a tiny diversion.

Gratitude.

No, don’t roll your eyes.  A little gratitude can really go a long way.

So your story is stalled, you’re better off than most people who haven’t even started to write.

Okay, so you failed to hit your goal, have you learned anything that you can use to start again? Perhaps you need a different goal instead? A bigger one or a smaller one. You get to choose.

Is your life really stalled or just progressing at a different pace than others?

No, don’t answer that. Instead take a moment to be grateful for what is going right in your life.

What you focus on expands. So don’t focus on your worries. Focus on your gifts. Expand your gratitude and it will open your eyes to all you can be thankful for.

The list is bigger than you can image.
