waiting for the pay off. Don’t be shocked when the thrill is gone.

When you hit the wall.

When you’re in the middle of a project and the excitement isn’t the same as it was in the beginning.

That’s normal.

This is the place where the novel/story/poem is abandoned, the song is thrown, the canvas is left–maybe even demolished. Getting through this phase is not about passion, drive, excitement, brilliance, or anticipation.

It’s about the daily, weekly, monthly action that you do over and over again until you’re finished and start again.

It will pay off one day…just not now.

And that’s okay.
