Applause is wonderful.
It feels fantastic.
But sometimes, many times, it doesn’t come.
Or it comes when you least expect it.
Or it comes when you’re no longer around to hear it.
But that’s okay because applause has nothing to do with your present work.
It has nothing to do with joy, with peace, with creativity.
And guess what…you can applaud yourself.
Applaud that new recipe you tried, that new song, new garden you started, the new hairstyle.
But don’t wait for it to come.
Many creatives get stuck waiting for a moment that has nothing to do with them.
